Glitters only:  Nails Inc. Galaxy Knightsbridge Road, Sinful Colors half 1380 Unwrap Me, half
1396 Tinsel & Shine.  This lone half-and-half nail on the wheel was initially reserved for my excursion to the Chanel counter to swatch Rose Moire against my existing sibling shades, but I recovered quickly enough from that crush that I never bothered to deal with the nasty, nor post the Rose Moire comparison for you here…

The skinny:  I will return all of these to their retail sources, excepting Finger Paints Sparkle in the Sky (a wonderful “night sky” varnish in two matte-ish coats, even better with clear top coat, without the hassle of using multiple bases + effect top coats to obtain the dimensionality), Maybelline Color Show 750 Lavishly Lilac and the two Sinful Colors glitters.  Here’s why:

The L’Oreal varnishes are marketed as “textured”, which means the gumdrop/sand finish.  They are opaque in one coat, and lay down smoothly during application.  Relative to the Maybelline Color Show Brocades LE, they are a superior product.  I just don’t like the price (although I received a BOGO 50% off discount), and prefer sparkly shimmer.  The sparkly shimmer does pop out at you with top coat, but it still retains that quasi-rough opacity.  Texture!

Maybelline Color Show Brocades are thick and gloppy, requiring at least two coats, and even then, the base is patchy, with transparent or bald spots.  With exception of 750 Lavishly Lilac, whose glitters lay down and stay flat and level on the nail, these I can do without.

I was extremely disappointed in the application and finish of my $11 USD bottle of Nails Inc. Galaxy Knightsbridge Road, which I road-tested here against the MCS Brocades (Lavishly Lilac was the sole winner in that race).  Bumpy, patchy, surprisingly unshiny in spite of the greengold glitter base and really unique color and size combination of other glitters.  I greatly prefer the China Glaze Prismatics and both Wet n Wild versions of the Prismatics to this, unfortunately.  I’m not looking forward to returning my Nails Inc., but every time I look at the swatch, I think:  do the BUMP.
