Chanel Frenzy: Hands down best formula, application, sheer-opacity. More than one coat necessary. Self-evening; least “lilac” of the group. Like the tone the least…but other qualities make it unique and irreplaceable.

Misa Pay Days: Runny and streaky, closest to Frenzy in shade but more lilac and even more attractive. Requires more than one coat; very thin formula. Looks just like Frenzy in the bottle, closest to Frenzy of all of the above. Pay Days’ color + Frenzy’s formula = perfection.

Borghese Arrivederci Mist: Gorgeous shade, awful thick formula with wide hard paintbrush that removes rather than applies polish to the nail. Not worth the trouble; requires more than one coat, but first coat gets “erased” upon application of second.

Kiko 319: The all-round winner. Opacity and perfect application in one coat. Much darker and more lilac than Frenzy. Prior to testing it, I had heard these two were twins.

Misa PMN@W: Much darker and greyer than all of the above. Same runny, thin formula and application as Pay Days. Definitely requires more than one coat.

Colour Alike 440: Tested separately from others because it contains shimmer, supremely subtle rainbow microshimmer! Applies to nail much darker than appears in bottle, very taupe, more mole brown than greige. Looks gorgeous at 2-3 coats. Lovely formula. Closer to Chanel Particuliere, but better due to nanoshimmer, almost invisible on the nail except at specific angles. Saves it from flatness and gives depth in lieu of sheen.
